THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Heading into the last weekend of 2019, Environment Canada is forecasting snow. A Weather Advisory is in effect for Thunder Bay. The storm will be caused by a significant low-pressure system that will track across Northwestern Ontario starting late Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
For travellers planning a trip south to Duluth Minnesota for the weekend, the storm is likely to impact your travel plans as well.

Significant Snowfall Sunday and Monday.
An intense low-pressure system is expected to bring heavy snow to a large portion of northwestern Ontario. There may also be drifting snow in some areas.
Snow is expected to begin overnight and quickly intensify Sunday morning. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected by Sunday evening. Freezing drizzle may also be mixed with the snow at times Sunday afternoon.
The snow should become light Sunday night, however, it is expected to reintensify again Monday morning, especially near Lake Superior. Additional amounts of 10 to 20 cm on Monday are possible for some communities.
Travel is expected to rapidly deteriorate Sunday morning.
