Major Drug Bust in Fort Albany

FORT ALBANY – On November 15, 2019, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service members of the Fort Albany Detachment charged an adult female under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act following the seizure of illegal drugs.

Police seized a large amount of Percocet pills and a large quantity of Cocaine with a combined street value of approximately $110,160.00).

A 25-year-old female from Sudbury, Ontario faces charges of two counts of Possession of a Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The adult female has been released on conditions and will next appear in court on January 29, 2020, in Fort Albany First Nation.

In a statement to media, NAPS states that the female cannot be named at this time due to the processing of court documents.

Fort Albany First Nation is located approximately 525 km north of Timmins.
