THUNDER BAY – United States President Donald J. Trump has a Twitter following of 67 million. Not all of those accounts are his supporters.

Today, the President is calling down his political opponents. The President is facing impeachment. He is on the attack at that possibility.

By going on the attack, the President can fire up his base.

The Republican President does know that his base is where his political support comes from. Fox News has 18.5 million followers, and CNN has 46 million followers.

There have been many people who have mused on American news channels that the President’s Twitter account is a problem. The reality is that perhaps it is President Trump’s Twitter account is his personal link to his base, and his Tweets are the gasoline that fuels his political engine.

Trump seems to thrive on the controversy his Tweets bring.

His political opponents also seem to focus on his Tweets. How often have political news shows reported on what the President has Tweeted?

That lets President Trump share his views with a wider audience.

It seems to empower the President – even when people are talking negatively about him, even though he very much prefers to be the star of the show.
