Oliver-Paipoonge – Mayor Kloosterhuis Declares State of Emergency

THUNDER BAY – Mayor Lucy Kloosterhuis reports that heavy rain followed by snow has made driving extemely dangerous in Oliver-Paipoonge. The Mayor has declared a state of emergency as snow clearing vehicles and emergency vehicles can not get out.

The Mayor is advising residents not to venture onto the roads until they are cleared.

Environment Canada has continued the Snowfall Warning and advises that the snow should start tapering off in a few hours..
