THUNDER BAY – Pam Palmater was the keynote speaker at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at the Indigenous Law Across Landscape Conference in Thunder Bay Ontario.

Following her keynote address and a panel discussion, Dr. Palmater sat down with Amanda Perreault from NetNewsLedger to discuss the issues facing Indigenous People not only in Thunder Bay but across Turtle Island.

Shooting straight at the issues facing Indigenous people across Canada, Palmater states that the status quo is failing Indigenous people.

The colonization, violence, abuse, and genocide that has been imposed on Canada’s Indigenous people continue. There are opportunities for shifting the paradigm, but it is going to take real effort.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NetNewsLedger, Pam Palmater says there is hope because Indigenous people have survived and are continuing to survive.
