PEAWANCK – WEATHER – Environment Canada says, “Snow squalls have developed over Hudson Bay and are expected to move onshore over eastern sections of the region this morning. The squalls may become stationary at times along the northeastern coastline and are expected to persist throughout the day and into the evening.”

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Snow squalls are expected over eastern sections today. The squalls are expected to affect eastern sections of Polar Bear Provincial Park and should remain well to the east of the Peawanuck community.
Localized accumulations of 15 to 25 cm are possible by this evening.
