Kenora Man Faces Drug Trafficking Charges

KENORA – NEWS – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) and the Kenora and Red Lake OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), have charged one individual with drug-related offenses following an arrest in Kenora on Thursday, October 31, 2019.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, 35-year-old, Jaspreet VIRDI, from Kenora has been charged with:

  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance- Cocaine, Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Illicit Cannabis, Section 8 (1)(b) of the Cannabis Act
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused is to appear in Kenora court on November 28, 2019 to answer to the charges.
