Winnipeg – Police Seek Assistance in Latest Homicides – Thirty-Eight Homicides in 2019

WINNIPEG – Investigators with the Winnipeg Police are requesting the public’s assistance regarding the murder of Edwin Adrian Harper and Wayne Patrick Palidwor who were shot and killed during the early morning hours of October 27, 2019. The shooting took place in the rear lane of Ross Avenue near Isabel Street.

Investigators are asking for businesses and residents in the surrounding area to check their surveillance systems for any images during the period of 1:00 am to 3:00 am on October 27, 2019.

In addition, Police in the Manitoba capital is also investigating another shooting that has resulted in another death. Winnipeg Police report that on November 2, 2019, at 1:30 am CDT, numerous Winnipeg Police units responded to a gun call at the Citizen nightclub located in the 200 block of Bannatyne Avenue.

Responding officers located two adult males who had been shot. One male sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The second male at the scene was located deceased as a result of wounds from gunshots.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit. A large number of people were inside the Citizen Night Club at the time of the incident. Investigators are asking that anyone who may have cell phone video taken during the evening or any relevant information to contact the Homicide Unit at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
