Convenience Store Robbery Suspect Arrested Minutes After Police Arrived

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Fast work by Thunder Bay Police has led to the speedy arrest of a suspect in a robbery at the Circle K at Cumberland Street North and River Street.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch responded to reports of a robbery at a convenience store in the 100 block of Cumberland Street North that had occurred just after 10 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019.

When police arrived they learned a female suspect had entered the store and began to take store merchandise without paying. Staff witnessing the theft requested the accused return the items.

The suspect then threw soft-drink bottles at staff as they attempted to stop her. The suspect threatened staff with a newspaper stand before breaking it and attempting to break a glass door with the metal shelf.

Officers located and arrested the suspect minutes after arriving on the scene.

Ashley Deidre TOSET, 35, of Thunder Bay is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Robbery, and Mischief Under $5,000.

She appeared in bail court Tuesday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
