Police Resources stretched by Recent Crimes
WINNIPEG – NEWS – Winnipeg has seen three homicides in the past two days including a shooting that has injured three adults and an infant.
On October 27, 2019, at 3:15 pm CDT, Winnipeg Police General Patrol and Tactical Support Team units responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Flora Avenue. Early information was that a suspect male had entered the doorway of a single-family residence on that block and fired a shotgun into the residence before fleeing the area.
The shot struck four victims inside the house, three adults and an infant. All four were conveyed to the hospital by ambulance. The three adults are now in stable condition. The infant’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, however, an updated status is not available at this time.

The tragic incidents that have taken place within the City over the past 18 hours have placed a significant strain on Winnipeg Police Service resources. We will continue to triage all calls for service and prioritize personal and public safety over property concerns and incidents where there is no immediate threat. We ask those waiting for a police response during this time to please be patient.
