Saskatoon, SK – SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team started the OUA regular season with a 110-108 win against the McMaster Marauders Friday night at the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse thanks to a Thunderwovles basket made with only 5 seconds left to play.
“Good team win tonight in a fast-paced game,” said head coach Ryan Thomson.
“Tomorrow we need to do a better job of taking care of the ball and not getting sped up. It should be another battle.”
Lock Lam played a strong game on both ends of the court for the Thunderwolves, finishing the game with 26 points and 12 assists. Isaiah Traylor finished right behind Lam with 20 points for the Thunderwolves.
Sefa Otchere scored a game-high of 33 points for the Marauders while Damiann Prehay, Connor Gilmore, and Kwasi Adu-Poku all led their team defensively with 5 rebounds each.
It was a tight, back-and-forth game as the fans in attendance saw the lead change 25 times throughout the course of the game.
The Thunderwolves are looking forward to another strong game against the Marauders on Saturday, Oct. 26 as they are scheduled to face off for the second game of a back-to-back series at 8:00 pm.
