Suspects Named and Charges Released
THUNDER BAY – Crime Update – The four suspects arrested by Thunder Bay Police have now appeared before a judge and police have released the list of charges and the names of the suspects.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers arrested four people from the Toronto area following a recent disturbance involving a firearm.
Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Pearl Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 following reports of a disturbance. The disturbance was believed to involve a break-in and a firearm.
Suspects fled the area before police arrived on the scene.
When police arrived they began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this alleged incident.
As a result of the ongoing investigation – which also involved members of the service’s Major Crimes Unit, K9 Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and Intelligence Unit – police identified and located suspects connected to the Sunday incident.
Four suspects, who were in a motor vehicle together, were taken into custody following a high-risk arrest in the zero-to-100 block of Lake Street in the early afternoon hours of Monday, Oct. 21.
Police located a handgun inside the vehicle. During the arrests, one of the male suspects provided a name to police that further investigation revealed to be a false identity.
Police also seized crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $16,000, Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $5,000 and about $5,000CAD during the arrests.

• Possession of Firearm/ Ammo Contrary to Prohibition Order
Demitri Austin GREEN, 21, of Toronto is charged with:
• Breaking and Entering with Intent

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

Jaisha Rina MESQUITO, 19, of Markham is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

All accused appeared in court Tuesday and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
