THUNDER BAY – POLITICS 2.0 – The issue of passenger rail has become an issue over the past couple of days. Green Party candidate Bruce Hyer has been a long-time advocate of improved passenger rail and stopping what the Thunder Bay-Superior North candidate says is a “Death by 1000 cuts” under both the Conservative and Liberal governments in the past.

Bruce Hyer says if re-elected that he will fight until VIA Rail service is restored to the North Shore of Lake Superior and Thunder Bay. This would mean a restore service to Sioux Lookout, Kenora, and Dryden on the south lines operated by CP Rail.

NetNewsLedger reported on the weekend on a plan proposed by Frank Pullia the Conservative candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North to bring community-owned rail to the Northshore of Lake Superior.
