SUDBURY – SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves fell 5-3 to the Laurentian Voyageurs Friday, Oct. 11 in Sudbury, ON.
The Wolves had a slow start to the game, giving up two goals in the first period. The first goal was scored by Voyageurs forward Brett Jacklin less than a minute into the game.
The Thunderwolves came back strong in the second period, scoring three goals and only giving up one.
Junior forward Daniel Del Paggio scored the first Thunderwolves goal, assisted by Kyle Auger and Jordan Larson. Sophomore Jordan King scored the Wolves’ second goal of the night, assisted by defenseman Taylor Egan.
The Thunderwolves’ final goal of the night was scored by forward Tomas Soustal. Geoff Dempster and Josh Laframboise would each pick up an assist on the goal.
The Wolves’ went 4-0 on the powerplay, while Laurentian went 3-1.
Thunderwolves goaltender Nic Renyard faced 35 shots, making 30 saves. On the other side of the rink, Laurentian goaltender Mackenzie Savard made 37 saves on 40 shots.
The Thunderwolves will be back in action against the Voyageurs in Sudbury, ON on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 PM.
