THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A busy day on Tuesday for Thunder Bay Police as officers were engaged in another step forward in the war on illegal drugs in our city.
Thunder Bay Police have arrested five individuals, including three Toronto area men, and seized a quantity of drugs, cash, and firearms following the search of a Mountdale Avenue home.
Officers with the service’s Intelligence Branch assisted by members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and OPP executed a search warrant on a residence in the 1100 block of Mountdale Avenue shortly after 4 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
The search followed an ongoing and active investigation into the drug trade.
During the search, officers located a loaded handgun, a rifle, a quantity of cocaine, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Four people occupying the residence at the time of the search were arrested.
Another male connected to this investigation was arrested by police earlier that day. Around 2:30-to-3:30 pm, the male was removed from a plane at the Thunder Bay International Airport, and arrested by police.
The suspect was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals about $36,000 CAD. The value of currency seized is about $20,000 CAD.

- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
Jahquan CAIN, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Sentence
Terrell Delante CAIN, 21, of Toronto is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
Salvatore MIELE, 63, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
Samantha Jo-Lynn SERVANTEZ, 28, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
All five appeared in court Wednesday morning and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
