Serious Incident Under Investigation by Thunder Bay Police

THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Thunder Bay Police are on the scene following what sources are saying is a serious incident. Police were called to the Mackenzie and Dease Street neighbourhood near 9:30 pm Tuesday night.

The full facts are not available yet about what happened. There are reports which have not been confirmed by police that a person has been shot.

Update: Thunder Bay Police have now confirmed there has been a shooting. Details are following as updates come in. For now, police have confirmed that at 9:20 PM last night a male victim was found at the scene and transported to the hospital.

Police are asking that residents in the area check their video surveillance cameras and any drivers with dash cameras who were in the area between 9 PM and 10 PM last night who may have images which can help police to contact the at 807-684-1200

Thunder Bay Police Service has the backyard of a residence in the area taped off with crime-scene tape and the forensics unit is on-site. This is the police unit that consists of crime scene investigators who document an active crime or accident scene and collect, classify and identify evidence that’s later analyzed in a lab.
