THUNDER BAY — Bruce HYER, former MP for the Green Party of Canada, is calling on voters in Thunder Bay-Superior North who are disappointed with the Liberals to send him back to Ottawa to hold Trudeau more honest and accountable. Hyer says: “We appear to be headed for a Liberal minority government, with enough NDP and Green MPs to keep the Liberals on track.”
In Thunder Bay-Superior North no one needs to worry about electing a Conservative! Hyer said, “In our riding, polling predictions clearly show the Greens are solidly in second place, and the NDP and Conservatives are way behind. Indeed, the Conservatives have not won here for 84 years, and no one needs to worry about vote splitting. Currently, at 24% in the polls, I am the best hope for voters who want to hold Trudeau accountable. I have a track record of speaking truth to power.”
Hyer is well known to voters in the Riding as a former MP who was forced to leave from the NDP caucus in 2012, punished by the party for keeping his promise to constituents. He has also made it known inside the Green Party that platform pledges have to recognize that life in the North is not the same as life in Toronto or Vancouver. “Simply put – we are not doing away with all oil or gasoline anytime in the foreseeable future. We do need to deal with the climate crisis in all regions of the country, reduce our carbon emissions quickly, but in some regions the solutions need to be different. I will be your voice.”
Bruce Hyer will be campaigning on the North Shore on Monday and will be holding “ask me anything” sessions in Schreiber at 12 PM and Marathon at 6:30 PM. “I love hard questions and I give straight answers. We need to talk about forestry and mining jobs. We need to talk about help for seniors so they can stay at home and still have quality health care in their hometown. I am ready to listen and to talk about any and all issues that matter in the North.”
