THUNDER BAY – POLITICS 2.0 – The issue of the environment and climate change has ramped up over the course of Election 2019. The political party platforms are being unveiled. The Conservative Party has released its 66-page climate plan called “A Real Plan“.

Linda Rydhom the Conservative candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North says that the overall goal of the Conservative plan is to reach objectives using technology, sharing the technology with some of the largest emitters on the planet, and working to clean up our environment in Canada.

In a media release today, the Conservatives are on Liberal leader Justin Trudeau over his plan. The Conservative Party says, “Today Justin Trudeau announced that a re-elected Liberal Government would use legislation to force Canada to commit to net-zero emissions by 2050.

Trudeau’s plan would raise taxes by $3,000 on middle-class families and hike gasoline prices by 73 cents/liter.

He will destroy the economies of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, while also destroying the manufacturing sector in Ontario and Quebec.

Hundreds of thousands of people will lose their jobs.

And these are just modest estimates. To realize his goal, Justin Trudeau will need to make even more irresponsible changes like:

  • Make air travel affordable only to the very rich;
  • Eliminate Canada’s energy industry;
  • Transition away from the manufacturing sector;
  • Ban natural gas use; and/or
  • Shut down cattle farming in the agriculture sector.
