Lakehead University Prepares for Homecoming Weekend

THUNDER BAY – LIVING – From October 3-5, 2019, Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves will be welcoming students, alumni, and friends back to campus to celebrate the annual Homecoming Weekend. Lakehead Athletics is especially excited to welcome back those who have been a part of the Lakehead Wrestling team, which is entering into its 50th season, the 2019 Wall of Fame inductees and the 1969-70 men’s basketball team, who are also celebrating 50 years.
Thunderwolves men’s and women’s basketball are excited to be back in action as they host Winnipeg and Manitoba for back-to-back games on Oct. 3 and 4. The 1969-70 men’s basketball team will be honoured at half-time during the men’s game on Oct. 3.

This year’s inductees are Ron Lappage (Builder), Justin BeauParlant and Andy Ritchie (Male Athletes), Kelly Roslinsky and Jylisa Williams (Female Athletes), and the 2001-02 men’s wrestling team. The Wall of Fame ceremony will be taking place in the Hangar on Oct. 5 at 11:00 AM. Learn more about the 2019 Wall of Fame inductees here.
The Lakehead wrestling team will also be hosting events over the course of the weekend, including a meet and greet and reception. All wrestling events require registration. Guests are asked to reach out the wrestling head coach Francis Clayton for more details.
The Lakehead Thunderwolves are also excited to host the Zanatta Alumni Basketball and Volleyball games starting at 2 PM on Oct. 5.
