Dryden – Police Arrest Man for Hockey Stick Off-Ice Assault

Dryden – On September 15, 2019, at approximately 9:30 pm, the Dryden Police Service was called to a disturbance at an apartment building on Van Horne Avenue. When police arrived, they learned of a physical altercation between two males in the parking lot where the accused struck the victim with a hockey stick. The accused, Joel Grant COUNCILLOR, 30-years-old of Dryden, Ontario has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.

COUNCILLOR was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sioux Lookout on September 16, 2019. The victim was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released. This was an isolated incident and no other injuries were reported.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
