Dryden Man Arrested for Sexual Assault on Person under 16-Years-Old

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

DRYDEN – NEWS – Dryden OPP have laid sexual assault charges against a 65-year-old man following a complaint made on September 03, 2019, when officers with the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a sexual assault complaint. The Northwest Region Crime Unit investigated the complaint.

On September 4, 2019, 65-year-old Walter HASTINGS of Dryden, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Sexual Interference, Section 151;
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age, Section 152; and with
  • Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age, Section 271

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on September 6, 2019, to answer to the charges.
