Road Construction Season in Thunder Bay Continues

THUNDER BAY – LIVING – Construction season continues in Thunder Bay as work continues on streets and roads.

Starting on Tuesday, September 3rd, James Street North, between Parkway Drive and Victoria Avenue will be closed for storm sewer work.

Motorists travelling south can follow posted signage to Parkway Drive to Edward Street to Victoria Avenue. Motorists travelling north can follow signage and take Victoria Avenue to Edward Street to Churchill Drive.

Construction is expected to take approximately eight weeks up to the end of October.

Provisions for accessing the school bus loading zone will be made.

Also starting on Tuesday, September 3rd, Dawson Road, between Fassina Street and Strand Avenue, will undergo road construction. Work will include asphalt resurfacing and repairs to the curb and gutter, and catch basins.

Lane closures will occur during the work and traffic may be delayed during busy times.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take alternate routes if possible, use extra caution, and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.

Business within the construction zone will remain open as usual. The work is expected to last four to five weeks.
