Homicide Charges Follow Sioux Lookout Disturbance

SIOUX LOOKOUT – NEWS – On August 31, 2019, at approximately 2:30 am, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment responded to a disturbance on Front Street in the town Sioux Lookout.

Skylar MESHAKE, a 22-year-old male from Sioux Lookout, Ontario was transported by the North West Emergency Medical Services (NWEMS) to the local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

As a result, Felix WESLEY, 34-years-old, of Sioux Lookout, Ontario has been arrested and charged for Second Degree Murder contrary to section 235 (1) of the Criminal Code.

Wesley will be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Members of the OPP North West Region Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Kevin Veillieux of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
