THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – Bruce Hyer says that he has had a four-year vacation and is ready to get back to work. Hyer was nominated last night as the Green Party of Canada candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North, a riding he held for seven years, first as a New Democrat Member of Parliament, and then an independent MP before joining with Green Party Leader Elizabeth May.
Hyer says that Thunder Bay-Superior North is a three-way race between the Green Party, the Liberals and the New Democrats. In this interview, Hyer says that the Conservatives have not been elected in Thunder Bay since the 1920s.
Hyer believes that this election will likely lead to a Liberal minority government and that the Green Party and New Democrats will hold the balance of power.
