IGNACE – The Township of Ignace is going to work toward a master plan. “Our Government is empowering Northern Ontario communities to take charge of their economic futures by investing in local priorities that support jobs, growth and a strong economy,” stated Nault. “By investing in the Township of Ignace, we are helping to maximize the community’s economic and tourism potential, while supporting long-term growth and prosperity throughout the area.”
Identified as a local priority, the master plan will outline a vision and long-term economic strategy for the community. Specifically, FedNor funding will support the three key components of the master plan, which include developing and implementing economic development and tourism strategies, as well as completing a community capacity study. Once complete, the initiative will provide the township with the planning tools and tactics needed to attract private sector investments and businesses to the area, while creating jobs, enhancing tourism and maximizing social, economic and growth opportunities in the community.
“Families and businesses in the Township of Ignace will benefit from future job creation, long-term growth and a strong economic outlook,” concluded Nault. “The positive impacts of this investment will extend far beyond Ignace and ripple throughout the region as we continue making the North even stronger.”
