Keep your Ticket and Support Saving the Carousel

THUNDER BAY – Due to low ticket sales, The Save Our Carousel Committee announced today that the Sounds of the Century Concert featuring the Roy Coran Big Band and the Fort William Male Summer Choir scheduled for the Moose Lodge on Saturday, August 24 has been cancelled.

Ticket purchasers are asked to return their tickets to the location where they were purchased for a full refund.  Alternatively, they can be brought to the Save Our Carousel booth at the Westfort Street Fair on Saturday, August 17.

Netnewsledger has been told that some ticket holders are simply going to hang on to their tickets and consider the ticket a donation to help Save the Carousel.

“We want to thank the Roy Coran Big Band, the Fort William Male Summer Choir, the Moose Lodge, the Thunder Bay Port Authority and Chartwell for their support and understanding.” We also wish to thank the many individuals who had agreed to donate food and prizes to the event” stated Carousel Restoration Project Manager Iain Angus.

The Save Our Carousel Committee continues to work towards the full restoration of the 104-year-old C.W. Parker Carousel. Those interested in financially assisting in the restoration are invited to go to www.saveourcarousel.com. Watch this site for future events and activities.
