City of Thunder Bay – Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the City of Thunder Bay.

Environment Canada says that conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Thunderstorms have developed in the area. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe with wind gusts of 90 km/h and nickel-sized hail.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
