THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the City of Thunder Bay – This replaces the earlier Watch that was in effect.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

At 7:16 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
A line of thunderstorms approaching from the west may reach the Kakabeka Falls area between 8.00 and 8.30 PM EDT and the Thunder Bay area between 8.30 and 9.00 PM EDT.
Wind gusts to 100 km/h, torrential downpours suddenly reducing visibility to near zero and 1 to 2 cm hail are possible.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
