THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – Shelby here! I am so excited to seek the nomination for Thunder Bay – Rainy River. We have an opportunity to make history by nominating the first female candidate in the riding’s history. I would be honoured to have your support.

My experience includes:

*H.B.A. Political Science – Lakehead University

*Twice elected to Thunder Bay City Council

*Local small business owner

*Chair of Community Services City of Thunder Bay, Communication Committee

*Intergovernmental Affairs Committee Member

*Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board Member

*Northern Ontario Municipal Association Member

Why I am running:

When people have a skill and desire to serve their community, they should do so with all their heart. Progressing our region is my passion. I believe that public service is the highest calling. I have a foundation that will serve the people of Thunder Bay – Rainy River and bring our Northern voice to Ottawa.

I became a Liberal in 1993. I was a grade 6 student at Ogden Street School. I loved Jean Chretien because he stood up for himself and others. This is something I value and emulate.

The Liberal tent has never been bigger and more inclusive. Over the last four years our party has made significant progress with policies like the Canada Child Benefit, Climate Action Incentive, and Breaking Barriers for Women to name few.

I’ve seen first hand what the impact of unrestricted gas tax funds can mean to our communities, especially as we tackle the realities of climate change. Investment into our communities is the cornerstone for our stability and growth. I want to be apart of a government that invests into people and communities.

I look forward to engaging with you over the next few days. Trust that I will work hard for you. Know that as a life long Liberal, I have a big red heart. Nominate a candidate that you will be proud of.

Red shoes on, ready to run.
