Police Seek Witnesses to Fort William Road Accident

THUNDER BAY – On Wednesday June 5th, 2019, just prior to 2:30 pm, Thunder Bay Police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision which occurred at the intersection of Fort William Road and Water Street.

The initial investigation revealed that a Grey four-door Toyota car was travelling in a south east direction on Fort William Road and continued through the intersection at Water Street without stopping.

The vehicle then continued across Water Street, entering the ditch on the east side of the roadway and coming to rest on the railway tracks.

Initially injuries to the male were believed to be minor in nature however it was later determined that they were much more severe.

As a result, the Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit now has investigators assigned to this collision and the investigation is ongoing. The 71-year-old driver remains in hospital being treated for those injuries.
