Fire Rescue Makes Quick Work of Simpson Street Fire

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) responded to a structural fire in the 200 Block of Simpson Street early this morning.

The building was unoccupied.

A wood outside stair way, for access to the second floor, was fully involved.

First arriving units were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

Due to size of flames, extra precaution was taken, and the building was searched thoroughly for fire extension into building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

Fire Rescue report that a total of 5 Pumper trucks, 1 Aerial Ladder truck and 1 Command Unit responded to bring this fire under control.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue would like to remind people that it is important to remember that dry tall grass around buildings are a fire hazard and should be cleared.
