Suspect Faces 13 Charges in Total

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A Thunder Bay Police Service officer noticed a possible stolen vehicle while on patrol in the area of Ambrose and Algoma Streets just before 8 am on Tuesday, May 14.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, at which point the male driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

The officer pursued on foot and caught up with the suspect in the zero-to-100 block of Secord Street, where the arrest was completed.

The accused was in possession of a non-firearm prohibited weapon at the time of the incident.

The accused, a 25-year-old Windsor area man, is now in police custody and is expected to appear in court Wednesday morning.

He is expected to face charges including: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000; Resist Arrest; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon; Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle; Breach of Probation x 3; Disobeying a Court Order x 6.
