Thunder Bay Police Investigate Homicide

THUNDER BAY – An assault reported last Thursday has now become a homicide investigation. Thunder Bay Police report that the injured male located at the corner of Victoria Avenue and North Street on Thursday, April 25, 2019, has succumbed to his injuries.

Paramedics were originally dispatched to the scene at about 4 p.m. on April 25 where a male was reportedly on the sidewalk and in distress.

The male was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where his injuries were being treated.

Police can now confirm the identity of the victim is Andrew Ayre, 52, of Thunder Bay.
