Special Weather Statement for Rainfall on Sunday is in effect

THUNDER BAY – Sunday is going to be wet according to Environment Canada. The weather service has issued a special weather statement for Thunder Bay as well as for areas northeast of the city.

A low-pressure system is expected to move over Northern Ontario on Sunday. Rain is expected to develop early Sunday and persist into Sunday night.

Rainfall amounts up to 25 mm are possible

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay
  • Cloud Bay – Dorion
  • Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Nipigon – Rossport

The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
