THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay has commissioned Ipsos, a professional public opinion research company, to conduct the 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey by telephone to a random selection of residents.

The survey will take place over the next two weeks and will end mid-April. The survey includes a wide range of topics including the most important issues facing the community, quality of life, importance of and satisfaction with municipal services, and communication needs.

The scientifically valid telephone survey gathers data from 500 randomly-selected residents over 18 years of age to gauge how satisfied they are with the services and quality of life Thunder Bay offers. The survey generates results that are accurate +/- 4.4 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

The survey will also be opened up to interested residents via an online survey.

“Our experience shows that citizens who are highly engaged with municipal affairs can be disappointed in not being selected to participate in a citizen satisfaction survey,” said Diana MacDonald, Ipsos.

“The online option will allow for an additional source of input for the City to consider and will certainly meet the objective of active engagement for residents.”

The online survey will be available to residents in mid-April. More details will be provided shortly.
