THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – The Thunder Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an ongoing fraud investigation.

Police were originally dispatched to a Mac’s Convenience Store on 475 Hodder Avenue on Tuesday, March 12, 2018, just after 9:30 pm EDT for a reported fraud in progress.

Investigators learned a victim had returned to the convenience store to retrieve a bank card she had misplaced. The victim was unable to retrieve the card and learned transactions had been made by whoever was in possession of it.

Police were able to track the transactions and through the course of their investigation obtained surveillance footage featuring a male suspect at the nearby Skaf’s Convenience Store on Hodder Avenue.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30 years old. He has a heavy build, brown hair and brown facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans and a black toque.

If you have any information that could help identify these suspects please call police at 684-1200, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.

Please note: Thunder Bay Police Service has received information that implies a female suspect, in this case, may be a minor. As a result of this new information, we have removed the photographs associated with this suspect.
