OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has apologized for how he treated protesters last night who attended a Liberal fundraiser to showcase the problems of mercury poisoning facing Grassy Narrows First Nation.
Trudeau stated that “He always tries to treat protesters with respect but I didn’t do that last night. Last night I lacked respect towards them.”
The video of the Prime Minister’s comments, “Thank you for your donation” was posted on social media and later reported on national media.
"Thanks for your donation" – smugger words have never been said ????@JustinTrudeau is failing to help #GrassyNarrows, a key test of his 'commitment' to meaningful relationships with First Nations and to a healthy environment.#cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/vtFtPMSAZ4
