THUNDER BAY – Police have made fast work in making an arrest in the death of a woman on Tuesday. Thunder Bay Police Service officers have charged a woman with second-degree murder in connection with a recent homicide investigation.
Thunder Bay Police officers responded to reports of an unresponsive woman on a bike path in the County Fair area just before 1 am EDT Tuesday, March 19, 2019. A passerby had called 911 after seeing the body.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, a suspect was identified. That suspect was located and arrested in the evening hours of Wednesday, March 20th.
The accused, a 32-year-old Thunder Bay woman, is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning. Her identity cannot be released by police until the charges against her are sworn before the courts.
A post-mortem is scheduled to take place in Toronto.
The scene is still being held and police continue to ask the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
