Thunder Bay Police Charge Two with Trafficking

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Pearl Street just before 3 pm on Monday, March 11, 2019, to investigate reports of suspicious activity in an apartment unit believed to be vacant.

When officers arrived they located a male and female inside the unit. The investigation revealed the apartment unit was vacant and the two individuals inside were not lawfully in the dwelling.

While officers were inside the apartment they observed paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and apparent drugs.

Officers also located more than $2,000 on the male.

Daniel Ezekiel GYAN, 23, of Toronto, is now charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling.

Barbara Rose OKEESE, 47, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Obstruct Peace Officer, Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling and Failing to Comply With Condition Recognizance.

Both accused appeared in court Tuesday morning and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
