KENORA – Greg Rickford, MPP for Kenora-Rainy River, Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines and Minister of Indigenous Affairs, announced that the TryLight Theatre Company, a local non-profit and charitable organization will receive a total of $140,500, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
TryLight Theatre Company will use the funding to renovate the community theatre’s infrastructure to offer year-round productions and drama workshops.
“I am always proud to announce funding for community arts programming here Kenora,” said MPP Greg Rickford. “The TryLight Theatre Company is a great community asset and I am glad to see that it will continue to grow and enrich our community’s arts and culture offerings.”
“We’re thrilled that, with this grant, OTF has recognized the value of local theatre in our community,” said Riley Sleeman, Administrative Director of the TryLight Theatre Company. “This funding will help us complete our raised seating project and allow us to upgrade spaces and technology in our theatre.”
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded more than $120 million to some 700 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.
