THUNDER BAY – That ages-old ritual of changing the clocks kicks in at 03:00 am on March 10, 2019.

Daylight Savings Time is also time to change batteries in your CO Monitor and Smoke Detectors.

It means an “Extra Hour” of sunlight in the evenings. The idea started with Ben Franklin, in the United States, remember the fellow who flew a kite during a thunderstorm?

Over the years the idea has been implemented globally, although Saskatchewan does not follow the shift. Farmers one could theorize don’t worry so much about it.

With local students on March Break, there will be a softer launch for the annual ritual this year.
