Fast Work by Thunder Bay Police Nets Robbery Arrests

THUNDER BAY – Fast work by the Thunder Bay Police Service has led to the arrest of two suspects in a robbery attempt at a local hotel.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 1,000 block of Dawson Road just after 12:30 am on Thursday, February 28, 2019, following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.

Uniformed officers arrived and reviewed surveillance footage linked to the complaint.

Through the course of their investigation officers identified two accused individuals who assaulted the male victim in a hallway. Two females intervened to stop that assault from continuing.

The victim returned to his room, where he was later assaulted again by the previously identified accused individuals.

Police later found property belonging to the victim in the room of the two accused individuals.

The victim suffered non-life threatening facial injuries as a result of this incident.

Nolan Sinclair OKEESE, 21, of Longlac, Ont., and Randy Raymond Richard TIBISHKOGIJIG, 20, of Thunder Bay have both been charged with one count of Robbery.

Both accused appeared in court Thursday morning and were remanded into custody with a future date.
