THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There is a snowfall warning in effect for Toronto and parts of Southern Ontario. With heavy snow in the forecast for this afternoon, it is likely that air travel, as well as road travel, will be impacted.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Toronto

Significant snowfall of near 15 cm today.

Snow will continue through the day before ending this evening.

Many areas will receive near 15 centimetres of snow by this evening. Locally higher amounts of 20 cm are possible near the west end of Lake Ontario.

The heaviest snow is most likely to fall this afternoon, resulting in a significant impact on the commute home late in the day. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

This snow event will be from yet another in a series of low-pressure systems which have formed over the Southern Plains States. This latest low will pass by just to the south of Lake Erie.
