Fire Rescue Responds to Garage Fire and Space Heater Call

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to two Fire calls on Wednesday.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a report of smoke coming from a garage at 2565 Arthur St. W. around 11:15 am on Jan 30/19. A second alarm was called, responding a total of 5 pumpers, an aerial ladder and the Platoon Chief to the scene. The fire was quickly brought under control with moderate damage to the attached garage. The cause is under investigation.

At 16:20 another second alarm call was responded to at 220 Red River Rd. Where after investigation it was discovered that a built-in space heater was smoking in a basement bathroom. This was also quickly dealt with by responding crews. Minimal damage to the business was reported.
