WINNIPEG – There are growing issues faced by communities across Canada due to addiction to drugs. Opioid deaths have hit crisis numbers. Now fentanyl and “Meth” are becoming serious problem drugs across Canada. In Winnipeg “Meth” is becoming a serious crisis.

The Winnipeg Crime Stoppers, a community program, is in its 35th year of operation. Winnipeg Crime Stoppers says, “With the help of our partners in the media and Winnipeg Police Service, we have removed over $87.7 million in illegal drugs from our streets”.

In an effort to continue this success, Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is offering double the cash awards up to $2000 for information solving “meth” related crimes effective immediately and continuing to the end of February.

Crime Stoppers recognizes Winnipeg is currently experiencing a major crisis associated with crimes related to the use of “meth” on our streets.

Meth users often experience a state of confusion and anxiety that can easily translate to an increase in violence.

Anyone could be a victim of the meth crisis. People under the effect of meth are responsible for property and violent crimes caused by the desperation of looking for their next fix.
