THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Not a great deal of change in the forecast for Northwestern Ontario. The Extreme Cold Warnings continue for the region.

Environment Canada says that a prolonged period of very cold wind chills continues. Extreme wind chill values of minus 45 to minus 50 expected tonight.

The weather service says that “A cold Arctic airmass will continue to produce extremely cold conditions this evening and overnight. Wind chill values should begin to improve slightly on Friday as the cold air starts to moderate at it slides southeastwards.”

However, wind chill values near minus 40 are likely for portions of northwestern Ontario Friday night.
