Frigid Arctic Cold can damage your home's plumbing

THUNDER BAY – Across Northern Ontario and Western Canada and into Minnesota and North and South Dakota extremely cold weather is hitting hard. The Arctic temperatures are hard on people, hard on pets, and hard on homes and cars.

For homes, frozen water pipes can be a real problem. First. because you lose water, and second because of the potential damage from burst pipes.

Here are some tips from the American Red Cross on how to prevent the problem and then what to do to solve the problem.
