THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The extreme cold weather conditions have resulted in the cancellation of school buses in Thunder Bay for January 21, 2019.
Due to extremely cold weather ALL school transportation is CANCELLED FOR THIS MORNING ONLY (January 21, 2019) . Afternoon transportation will run as normally scheduled.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
A prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected.
Wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 continue this morning.
Conditions will begin to slowly moderate today. Wind chill values near minus 25 to minus 30 are expected tonight. As a result, the Extreme Cold warnings are expected to be ended by this afternoon.
Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
