Weather Alert EndedDRYDEN – WEATHER – The Weather Alert has ended.


Travel along highways in Northwestern Ontario will be a challenge today as there is freezing rain in the forecast for parts of the region.

9:14 AM EST Thursday 03 January 2019
Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre

Several hours of freezing rain possible today.

A band of freezing rain mixed with snow and ice pellets is expected to move eastwards ahead of a warm front and just north of the Minnesota state border today.

This message may be extended further eastwards as the day progresses.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
