Thunder Bay – SPORTS – The Thunderwolves men’s basketball team lost 112-45 to the Carleton Ravens on Saturday night. Carleton is currently the USPORTS #2 ranked team in the country. The loss marked the close of a tough weekend for the Lakehead squad, and they leave Ottawa at 2-4.
“Carleton is a really good team,” Thunderwolves head coach Ryan Thomson said. “As always, they are disciplined and make you pay for your mistakes.” Lakehead finished with 19 turnovers to Carleton’s 6, and the Thunderwolves were held to single-digit scoring in every quarter except the last.
“Coach Smart always has those guys ready to play, and it was a good experience for our young guys to see what it takes, and it really starts in practice,” Thomson said. Alston Harris and Isaiah Traylor led Lakehead with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Carleton had six players in double digits, with every member of the team contributing points.
Lakehead’s men’s basketball team returns home for their next games, as they face Queens and York at the Thunderdome on November 23rd and 24th.
“We will keep building together,” Thomson said of the team.
